TANGANYIKA

The emblematic charm of the African continent, over wild open spaces, offers a palette of amber colors and a charming atmosphere. The Tanganyika wood comes from the Equatorial belt of rainforests across Africa, from Sierra Leone to Liberia, via Ivory Coast and Zaire, to the Great Lakes region and Ethiopia. A vast territory full of mystery, unique flavors, and endemic tree species. Also called The Aniegre (Aningeria Superba), Tanganyika’s color is yellow cream, to pale pink, or reddish brown. It becomes darker with exposure to light. Its structure is layered with a medium texture. It is used as decorative veneer panels on cabinetry.

AMERICAN OAK

White oak grows in large areas of central and northern America. Our woods are harvested from the forest of the Appalachians, where the finest quality trees were born. It is a large deciduous tree, 20 to over 40 meters tall. It has a life span of over 500 years, sometimes up to 1,000 years. This is a very hard, yellowish brown wood, with straight grain and irregular texture. It is used in the making of fine furniture, luxury items, and musical instruments.

BUBINGA

An African leafy tree, mainly from Cameroon and Gabon. It is also called the Kevazingo. Three species occur, these are towering trees, up to 30 meters tall, with cylindrical trunks. A similar timber is found in southern Africa, it is called the Rhodesian Musibi or Copal wood. Its color is red to reddish brown, with purple veins. The weaving is average, and the grain is a bit intertwined, when wavy and uneven, this wood has a highly decorative appearance. It is a hard wood, similar to Rosewood; used in brushes, marquetry, cutlery, woodwork, decorative panels.

WHITE BIRCH

Comes mainly from Europe specifically the Nordic countries. There are many varieties, European, Asian, and American. We use the European birch. It is a tree with a slender trunk and pale grey bark, with deciduous and indented leaves. It can reach up to 30 meters in eighth. This is a clear color wood, from yellow to pinkish white, it is a soft, its grain is fine and uniform. Often flamed moiré. It is used to produce inlays and panels thin plywood of great resistance found in airplane and car seats.

BOLIVAR

Also called Tulipier, it is a leafy tree from the United States. It stands 50 to 60 meters tall and can live up to 500 years. It is easy to work with, it can lend itself to many creations, including furniture, because it is of a soft consistency. Light colored, it is ribbed with dark or greenish flames.

CURLY MAPLE

It is a precious wood from the USA and Canada. It can measure 12 to 30 meters in height and its longevity is 150 to 300 years. Curly maple is generally used to make luxury furniture and musical instruments. From almost white, it turns yellow under the influence of light and air. Its graining is discreet, yellow to pink. It is homogeneous, sometimes nervous, and eventually curly. It is used for making furniture, veneer, musical instruments and inlay work.

TAY OR KOTO

A medium to fairly large tree, up to 35 meters high. It comes from the West African forests. Present from Sierra Leone to Angola and the Republic of Congo. It can also be found in the dry regions of northern Gabon. It is used to produce wood panels, interior cabinetry, crown molding, furniture, light carpentry panels. The core wood is yellowish white to cream, sometimes with beautiful speckles, the grain is moderately coarse.

BIRD’S EYE MAPLE

It’s a wood from the United States and Canada. This rare tree is only found in very particular areas. It is thought that its mottled effects are the result of droplets of water trapped within the wood fibers during brutal spring frosts. The bird’s eye maple is generally used in the furniture industry to produce decorative veneer for panels and also for ornaments. This is a rather frequent special effect in the maples of America forming like a bird’s eye also called fly in French. The design is often accompanied by a moiré cross pattern giving it a very beautiful appearance.

CAROLINA PINE TREE

From the forests of the South and South East coast of the United States, the Carolina Pine Tree loses its lower branches as it grows. It is red to orange at core. This wood has a unique character by its color and grain. The sapwood is ranging from white to a yellowish tone, and the core wood from yellow to reddish brown. Its color quickly darkens when exposed to light, to take a coppery complexion. The wood is heavy rather rigid and impact-resistant, it is exceptionally strong. It is used for carpentry, flooring and decorative panels. Its texture is fine and the patterns can vary from clear to knotty.

ROSTRATA EUCALYPTUS

Rostrata Eucalyptus comes from Australia. Recently reintroduced in Spain. The color of stained woods is obtained with natural and hypoallergenic dyes.

MADRONA BURL

This species comes from North America along the Pacific Ocean. This wood is red to reddish brown. Its weaving is compact with visible and pronounced wood rays. Known and used for many years, the Madrona produces superb decorative veneer. We use natural burl that is at the base of the tree and not an artificial loupe. The vein is pink.

EUROPEAN WALNUT BURL

Very delicate wood from Europe, burls are trunk outgrowths that give a veneer of great beauty, with many dark knots. Burl produces outstanding figures and has a specific aspect of colorful designs with highly decorative effect. Amongst the burls, the walnut’s is the best known, and the finest. Walnut is a soft wood, with beautiful color, and broad veins on a brown background.
